What I Would Bring To A Desert Island
I’d bring Magnesium!!! There is a (nerdy) joke amongst Integrative providers that includes positing what supplement we would take if we were stranded on a desert island….. and while it’s a bit silly, it’s also a window into what natural supports have immense power. I LOVE MAGNESIUM.
Magnesium can :
Improve Sleep quality
Reduce Muscle Tension
Decrease Headaches
Reduce Anxiety and Stress
Lessen Constipation
Of course, talk to your doctor (or me if I have the honor of taking care of you!)….but, magnesium can be a splendid support. I personally recommend the Glycinate form as it crosses the blood-brain barrier and tends to have just the right amount of input into your gastrointestinal tract without being over stimulating like Magnesium Oxide can be.
If you want to focus on food sources, then the following are great options provided you tolerate them:
Almonds
Dark Chocolate (yay!)
Bananas
Avocados
Legumes
And, now, daydreaming a bit about that island…… 😉
