Adrenal Dysfunction: Where 98% is failing!
Normally, 98th percentile is not so shabby, right? Well, when it comes to cortisol levels, it’s TERRIBLE! And those are MY grades in 2015!
In this chart, Green is good. Yellow is bad. Red is ugly. Red is two standard deviations away from “normal.” That means I had higher cortisol levels than almost 98% of the rest of the population. Ugh.
What happened in 2015? Life. It was a few years after the birth of my first child. I had just opened a practice. I had a young child I was nursing. I was eating and sleeping way less than I should (and less than I would have liked!), and I felt poorly.
Point is, even if you know all the things you are supposed to do (like I should), it is HARD. Adrenal dysfunction is common and tough to beat. It took me a while to get back to “normal.” and it’s something I watch for like a hawk in myself to this day.
