What is getting in the way of your liver?
In doctor speak, we call this “impaired biotransformation”, but simply, it’s an unhappy liver.
The most common reasons for this:
- Overwhelming Toxic Load: I see this with people who have mercury amalgams, as an example.
- Impaired Elimination: sluggish bowels, urinary, or sweat output
- Inefficient Nutrients: remember Detoxification is heavily nutrient dependent!
- Dysregulation of Detox Enzymes : we all have variations in the enzymes of detoxification, and if you happen to have many alterations in those enzymes, an individualized approach would allow us to support you differently than the next person
- Bacterial Uncoupling in the Gut: when you have overgrowth of certain not so sexy bacteria in the gut, they can literally undo the work that your liver does to support detoxification
What can you do?
- Eat organic, non processed foods as much as possible.
- Eat many colors of the rainbow to get in all the nutrients your body needs!
- Exercise to move sweat, consume enough fiber for your bowels, and HYDRATE to use those processes our body has to remove toxic waste.
- Have a mix of probiotic foods, starchy veggies (carrots and sweet potatoes), and prebiotics (asparagus and artichoke) to support your microbiome!
