DCIM Q&A and Stress Reduction Sessions

Q&A and Stress Reduction Session

It was my pleasure to host these Q&A and Stress Reduction Sessions! My intention with these sessions was to offer a safe haven from the hailstorm of news and challenges that we are facing in our daily lives as a result of the coronavirus.  What follows is an example of our session broken into several parts, including a guided meditation at the end. I plan to post future guided meditation sessions to DCIM’s instagram account, so please be sure to follow us!

My Personal Supplement Plan during the Coronavirus Pandemic

Our first question during the Q&A asked about my personal supplement plan during the coronavirus pandemic. We also discussed why you can’t supplement (or medicate!) your way out of a problem… so we talked the rest of my holistic approach.

Why are People Dying of Strokes Secondary to Coronavirus?

Our second question during our last session asked about the Washington Post article regarding people dying of strokes secondary to coronavirus. We explore the trend in more cardiac-related deaths related to covid-19, and why this may be confusing since covid-19 was supposed to be a respiratory illness, right? And yes…sigh…I was inspired by an opportunistic nut and bolt.

Stress Reduction vs Stress Management, and Boosting Your Immune System

Our final question during our last session asked about the difference between Stress Reduction and Stress Management. We also took the opportunity to discuss what meditation, breathing, and other practices have data with respect to a positive effect on the immune system.

A Reading, A Focusing Practice, and a Guided Meditation

To set us up for our focusing practice and guided meditation, I read an excerpt from “Awakening Joy” called “Finding Joy in Difficult Times” by James Baraz. Join me for a focusing exercise and guided meditation during the rest of the video!
